Zim/Uk Basketball Tournament

Unika Free Basketball Clinics

On our last day of the first series of basketball clinics we had a special visit from the Bedfordshire Police Community Cohesion Team as well as the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Bedfordshire with the commissioner himself, Festus Akinbusoye PCC in attendance. We initially thought they will just come for half an hour tops, give a talk to the kids and shake a few hands and go but to our pleasant surprise the commissioner changed into his basketball kit, took full part in the whole two hour session coaching some of the kids as well (who knew he was a pro baller before) and gave an inspiring talk to everyone involved. PCSO Daniel McHugh from the Cohesion Team (one of the loveliest police officers you’ll ever come across) was in his usual element as well talking to all the kids and if there is one PC who would make you want to join the police force, it’s him.Upon finding out that this was our last session because we had run out of funding the PCC leapt into action and promised to source some for us to continue the training camps for the rest of the summer holidays. We are happy to announce that every Saturday until schools open the camps will be running at Active LutonLea Manor Recreation Centre 11am to 1pm thanks to the volunteer coaches from United Front, Team Zimbabwe UK and the charity UNIKA. We encourage all youngsters interested to register at the link below to guarantee a spot…https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/…/free-basketball-clinics…
